Same old, same OLD???

Having waved goodbye to youth some time ago, I have learned that elegance is simply wearing a well-cut dress or skirt just over the knee. Like all ladies, I love looking good and have always loved clothes, colours, fabrics, textures and have never been afraid of putting different colours together ( such as orange and pink).

With my fondness for clothes, you might expect to find lots of lovely silk dresses (for Spring and Summer) in my wardrobe as well as wool dresses and skirts for cooler seasons. Afraid not. Why? I cannot find the clothes that I want to buy.
I have silk dresses (from 2008) from LK Bennett which are nice enough, but at £199 each, it's disgraceful that they are unlined. As for Hobbs, their dresses were neither silk or wool and were also unlined. These dresses look 'nice', but in my opinion, they are not good enough.
Last week, I bought 4 dresses online (2 each from LK Bennett and Hobbs). I sent them all back as they were so badly made, as well as much too short. Grrrrrrr!!! Where can I find a beautifully-made elegant day dress?
In case you are thinking that I was unlucky in the dress-department, I got the same dismal results with silk (again unlined) tops.
Don't get me started on shoes! With size 42 feet, I have been on a lifelong quest to find beautiful leather shoes (with leather soles). Living in Geneva, it seems that size 41 is usually the largest size and even those are often sold out.
How do I manage? I have not yet found ANY shoes or sandals that I like (since 2008). Of course, that doesn't include daydreaming about glittering Gina slingbacks (mega-drool).
With an upcoming trip to London next month, I plan to sprint to Russell and Bromley in search of well-made footwear before I wage war on dresses and skirts!
